Animal Kingdom, Pandora | The World of Avatar

One of the first things my husband and I did after he finished the Bar exam was to go to Animal Kingdom. Unfortunately for both of us, we cannot really ride anything jolting so we got stuck doing low impact rides.

We first rode “It’s Tough to be a bug” (A Bug’s life). My husband was a little hesitant about going there because he was excited to see Avatar and to check out all the animals, but since we haven’t watched this 3D show in quite some time, we definitely had fun with Flick.

Afterwards, we are well on our way to Pandora in Animal Kingdom! Yay! I had not had a chance to visit the parks since I became pregnant and I was so excited to finally see the new expansion. As everyone knows, I am and will always be addicted to theme parks.

Valley of Mo’ara Disney’s Animal Kindom Pandora

Walking through the Valley of Mo’ara, one can see how much Disney World’s Animal Kingdom splurge on everything. There are a lot of details from the movie with a lot of information. The Valley of Mo’ara is a sacred place for the people of Na’vi. We went there in the day time but anytime of the day, you will see how beautiful it is!

Our first stop was the food as We (basically just I) are always hungry. We went to Satu’li Canteen for some much needed grub. Between my husband and I, we ordered a Sustainable Fish bowl (Panko Breaded Sustainable Fish topped with Crunchy Vegetable Slaw and Boba Balls served with your choice of Base and Sauce), Cheeseburger Steamed pods- Bao buns (Steamed Cheeseburger Pod stuffed with Ground Beef, Ketchup, Mustard, Pickle, and Cheddar Cheese served with Crunchy Vegetable Slaw and Vegetable Chips) and a cheese quesadilla.

The concept was great, the food basically ordinary for Disney standards and the vegetable crop chips can make you chip your tooth so be careful eating it.

Finally! We can go on an Avatar Ride! Since I’m pregnant, my husband was very kind in accompanying me in the family friendly ride the Na’vi River Journey. It’s inside the Valley and it gives you an underground view of the full beauty of Pandora. The actual ride is in a Reed boat. It’s very tame and a lot of it is glowing vegetation and animals with some animatronics similar to the Frozen ride. It’s an amazing rain forest and makes me wish I watched the movie again.

Alas, we have to move on to the animals and leave Pandora behind. We were able to visit the Gorilla, Hippo, birds and the other animals in Africa but it started to rain so the had to close the animal exhibit for the protection of the animals.

Overall, it was a great day trip with my husband. I wish we can do it more often. Both of us had been too busy with our careers that we had not spent as much quality time with each other.
