Seaworld Orlando Pokemon Go Lure Event

Seaworld Orlando was one of the first companies that embraced Pokemon Go. With roughly 50 pokestops and counting, Seaworld is one of the perfect place to go Pokemon hunting.

I went with my awesome mother in Seaworld for a little bit of mother and Daughter bonding last weekend. When 8am hit, I was rushing through my chores so we may make it to Seaworld at roughly 11am… both so we can watch the shows and also for me to enjoy the Lures. Lo and behold, as I was walking through the doors of Seaworld Orlando at roughly 11:30am, I opened the Pokemon Go App and I saw a Pokestop Mecca:

Pokestops with a lot of Lures in Seaworld Orlando

Let’s just say my attention was a little bit distracted from my mom as I try to maneuver from one pokestop to the next. I was wheeling around my mother in the wheelchair as I try to hit all the pokestops along the way. Thank God that Seaworld has some decent Wifi that for the most part I was having a lot of success with the Pokestops.

There were lures everywhere I go and since we are surrounded by a lot of water, most of the type of pokemon seen where the water type such as the Psyduck, Poliwag, Krabby, Horsea, Magikarp, Staryu and Goldeen. Of course, you’ll also see your regulars such as the rattatas, the Eevees, Pidgeys, Spearows, and the occasional Caterpies and Weedles.

I wasn’t able to go full out on the Pokemon part as I would like to spend time with my mom too (that, and I was pushing her in the wheel chair so I need two hands for that).

I was able to catch some while I was sitting down and watching the various shows Seaworld Orlando offers. Every 5 minutes, the pokestops turn blue again and I was able to replenish my dwindling pokeballs with an occasional egg and other hp replenishing tools mixed in the fray.

We were there for roughly 8 hours. We watched the shows, rode some rides, petted some sharks and penguins… and I caught a decent amount of Pokemon and I was able to get my pokeballs to a decent level. During the lure event between 11am to 2 pm, I had a time wherein I had a hard time connecting to the server. It was a little bit frustrating because you’re in the moment and you actually have time to play with the app, but the app keeps on kicking you out. I had better luck around 2 pm and I was able to play again but the lures were definitely less.

Overall it was a successful day for me in Seaworld Orlando: I was able to spend quality time with my mother, we were able to see all the animals there, I was able to exercise,  I was able to catch some Pokemon and also hit a lot of Pokestops.

I will definitely be coming back there for more… Hopefully it wouldn’t be too hot the next time I go there.
